Meet the Mensch

Meet Shalom.
The mensch behind the fire.

Born in Panama City, Panama, Shalom later lived in Honduras before growing up in Monsey, New York. That journey gave him a deep appreciation for the flavors, traditions, and generosity found around many different family tables.

For 18 years, Shalom has worked throughout the food industry, learning hand-in-hand with talented cooks and professional executive chefs. Chef Mensch Foods is where those experiences come together: vibrant Latin dishes fused with the heimishe comfort and bold Sephardic flavors he grew up enjoying.

Known for his sense of humor, natural charisma, and instinct for great food, Shalom brings warmth and personality to everything he cooks. His goal is simple: serve honest food with big flavor and make every customer feel like part of the Mensch family.
